Former MMA fighter Luke Barnatt has shared his thoughts on whether long-time training partner Andrew Tate could ever return to combat sports competition.
Barnatt was asked during a recent podcast appearance if Tate would ever step back into the ring again. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight explained that while Tate still has the skills and experience from his kickboxing career, his current lifestyle makes a return to fighting difficult right now.
Barnatt explained that Tate is extremely busy with business ventures and media commitments. According to him, preparing for a professional fight requires a full training camp and complete focus, something that is hard to balance with Tate’s current schedule. He suggested that while Tate still trains occasionally, competing again would require him to dedicate months purely to fight preparation.

Tate’s Last Combat Appearance Came Against Chase DeMoor
Although Tate made his name in kickboxing, he did return to combat sports in recent years for a crossover boxing match against influencer boxer Chase DeMoor. The bout was part of the growing influencer boxing scene and generated plenty of online attention.
In that fight, Tate struggled to keep up with DeMoor’s pace and ultimately lost the contest, marking one of the rare defeats in Tate’s combat sports career. The fight showed that despite his kickboxing pedigree, returning to competition after years away from the ring is never easy.
Before transitioning into business and online content, Tate had a successful kickboxing career. He competed primarily under the banner of the International Sport Karate Association and won multiple world titles, building a reputation as a confident and aggressive striker.
Despite Barnatt’s comments suggesting a comeback is unlikely right now, combat sports fans know that unexpected returns are always possible. With influencer boxing and crossover fights becoming increasingly popular, the door for another Tate appearance in the ring may never be completely closed.
For now, however, Barnatt’s comments indicate that Tate’s focus remains on his growing empire outside the fight world rather than preparing for another bout.
