Facing a challenger throwing everything at her from the opening bell would rattle most champions. Stella Hemetsberger simply waited.
“Always Hungry” made the first defense of her ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title a statement, finishing Natalia Diachkova by third-round knockout at ONE Fight Night 46 inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium this past Friday, August 14. Diachkova came out swinging behind heavy punch combinations, determined to overwhelm the two-sport champion before she could settle into any rhythm.

Hemetsberger had seen exactly this coming.
“Honestly, not really surprised. We made sure we are ready for whatever comes, just to fight our fight, execute our game plan, not her game plan. I’m very happy that I could let my performance speak in the ring,” she said.
After two rounds of patient counters, the finish arrived with startling suddenness. A single left kick buried into Diachkova’s liver buckled her instantly, and a follow-up to the same spot left no doubt before the finishing flurry closed the show.
“I just tried to listen to my corner, and they were calling for the body, so that’s what I tried to execute. I’ll have to rewatch it because it’s definitely very unreal to me, but I guess it’s the best one yet,” she said.

The win extended her perfect ONE Championship record to 6-0 and moved her overall mark to 11-1, earning a US$50,000 performance bonus along the way. True to her own philosophy, Hemetsberger insists the knockout itself was never the goal.
“My number one goal is always to put on a good fight, put on a good performance, and get out with the win. And if the knockout comes, it comes. And that just is like the cherry on top and makes the win even sweeter.”
For a fighter who has now beaten every version of adversity thrown at her inside the ring, that kind of calm certainty may be the most dangerous weapon in her entire arsenal.
