Despite his recent inactivity and failed comeback attempt, Conor McGregor is still the biggest name in the world of MMA. Following his last fight, McGregor busted his knee, and fans were concerned about his future.
However, the ‘Notorious’ has since had successful surgery and has promised fans about returning to the Octagon next year. In a recent interview, McGregor’s old rival Nate Diaz talked about their potential trilogy that has been on the table for years.

“Conor is a f***er. But Conor is a fighter. He’s someone you want to see. I’m not trying to kill him off. I’m not trying to be killed off by a guy trying to make a comeback. I’m trying to fight a big fight to move up in the fight program. I feel bad for him; I hope he does good. Positive vibes for the comeback. I’ll start whooping ass and doing good. And then I’m going to whoop his ass,” said Nate Diaz via MMA Junkie.

The rivalry between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz goes back to 2016 when Diaz beat the Irishman’s winning streak. The pair fought again, and this time McGregor was able to take his revenge and beat Diaz via unanimous decision.
Since then, both fighters have often traded multiple online insults and talked about fighting each other again. After leaving the UFC, Diaz has tried his luck in boxing but hasn’t been active for the last two years.

Conor McGregor talks about his unfortunate fight with Max Holloway
In the Max Holloway fight, Conor McGregor broke his knee in the first round, and Holloway wanted the referee to stop the fight. However, McGregor insisted on continuing the fight and was frustrated when Holloway didn’t feel the same.
“He backed away. It wasn’t me calling for the finish of the fight. Don’t stop the fight, finish the f*cking fight. You’re the man calling for the fight to be stopped, the fight has only began,” said Conor McGregor via Mac Energy.
