Analysing Jake Paul’s next opponent: Andrew Tate or Conor McGregor?

Jake Paul has become one of the most talked about names in the world of boxing. Having made his professional debut in 2020, he has attained a pro boxing record of 11-1 so far. Most recently, he was seen in action against Mike Tyson on November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight, being the first of its kind to be live-streamed through Netflix was billed to be one of the biggest fights of modern-day boxing.

However, the fight also faced a lot of heat because of the age disparity between the two. However, there was still a large portion of the audience that believed that Tyson might just get the better of Paul. But that did not seem to be the case at all. It was Paul who dominated the fight and it was clear that Tyson should not have been in the ring.

While Mike Tyson definitely had some force behind his punches, he lacked the ability to sustain his pressure. Moreover, he could not take hits at his age. Paul looked like the far better and more efficient boxer. Moreover, when Paul was landing heavy shots, Tyson even seemed wobbly on some occasions.

As the fight concluded, a number of opinions started to surface online about Paul’s next fight. Interestingly, two of the biggest names that seem to be in contention are Andrew Tate and Conor McGregor. That said, let’s explore the possibilities of Paul’s potential matchup against either of Tate or McGregor below.

Will Jake Paul fight Andrew Tate?

Andrew Tate is a former kickboxing champion turned social media influencer. He has made headlines not just for his athletic prowess but also for his polarizing views on masculinity and success over the years. As the prospect of a match between these two titans looms, fans are left to ponder the implications of such a fight on their careers and the combat sports landscape as a whole.

Andrew Tate boasts an impressive fighting pedigree, with multiple world championships in kickboxing. His training regimen and combat skills have made him a formidable opponent in the ring. He is a 4-time World Kickboxing Champion. Boasting a professional record of 76 wins and 9 losses he is known for his powerful striking and tactical prowess.

Both Tate and Paul have expressed interest in fighting each other. With Paul’s recent win over Tyson, a potential fight might happen soon. Speaking about the same, Sidekick Boxing’s founder and Tate’s former sponsor had this to say:

Andrew Tate was an incredible fighter and would fight anyone, anytime. However, he was a kickboxer, not a boxer, and the fact his been out the ring quite some time, I would favour Jake Paul to win.”

It is safe to say that Daniel Knight himself has doubts regarding Andrew Tate’s ability to potentially beat Jake Paul inside the squared circle. That said, a potential fight between the two will still be a massive event that would generate millions of dollars.

Will Jake Paul fight Conor McGregor?

The name Conor McGregor needs no introduction. The Irishman is undoubtedly the biggest name in the world of combat sports right now. Having been the star man for UFC for years, McGregor has seemingly had some unfavorable years recently. He has fought four times since 2018 and lost three of those fights inside the octagon.

Moreover, Conor McGregor also tried his hands at boxing when he took on Floyd Mayweather in 2017. However, he ended up losing the fight. As Paul’s polarising character grew, McGregor started to have constant online exchanges with him. On some occasions, McGregor even suggested that he would be down to fight Paul and shut him up for good.

Conor McGregor has often had something to say about Jake Paul and his choice of opponents. His fight against Tyson was no different as McGregor called him out for fighting a 58 year old retired fighter. Responding to McGregor, Paul challenged the former UFC champion for an MMA fight without any weight limit. He said “Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs. That’s never happening. But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t”.

Interestingly, In a now-deleted post on X, Conor McGregor, who has surely kept a keen eye on Jake Paul’s demolition of Mike Tyson along with the memes surrounding the fight, responded with a comment, which read, “Nakisa already rang me, lad, it’s this guy next for you. Good luck pal,” along with a picture of the American Senator Mitch McConnell, who is 82 years of age. McGregor was quick to take down the post, to keep the fans guessing about his intention to potentially return to combat sports.

Who will make more sense for Jake Paul, Andrew Tate or Conor McGregor?

As far as Jake Paul’s boxing career goes, his path has been unorthodox. Paul has seemingly focused more on creating big events that can generate a lot of money instead of fighting to build his credibility inside the ring. This is why a potential fight against either of Andrew Tate and Conor McGregor does not seem to be far-fetched.

Both the names are quite popular globally and both Tate and McGregor have had their fair share of controversies. However, there is no denying the fact that a potential fight between Paul and McGregor would be a bigger event considering the common disregard they share for each other. However, the only thing that can create a hindrance in this matchup is the weight limit.

Paul moved up to 223 lbs to face Tyson and can potentially cut back to 190-200 lbs. However, McGregor has never fought beyond the welterweight limit. As a result, convincing either of the two to meet at a designated weight limit could prove to be a huge challenge.

Conclusion

With that said about Jake Paul and his potential matchups against the likes of Andrew Tate and Conor McGregor, fans should expect more drama when it comes to Paul’s boxing career. A win over Mike Tyson will just allow Paul to stir the pot even more and garner more attention to whatever he does next.

That said, as things stand right now, nothing seems certain. With the limitations involved, the likelihood of Paul fighting either Tate or McGregor remains slim at the moment. As a result, it will be interesting to see as to what lies ahead of Paul in his boxing career and if he could eventually fight Tate or McGregor inside the octagon or the squared circle.
