Joseph Parker has responded to rumors about Daniel Dubois’ illness. This comes days after Parker won the WBO Championship Title with a knockout victory over Bakole in the second round. He was originally set to face Dubois as part of his plan to challenge Usyk for the mandatory spot.
Parker expressed that the situation felt “weird” for him, mentioning a new list of possible opponents, including Joe Joyce. He also noted that this new list of boxers doesn’t excite him as much as the original fight with Dubois.

Regarding Dubois’ claim of being sick, Parker said, “There was no real statement or proof from a doctor. Nothing has come out, and even after the fight, nothing has been said. So I feel a bit weird… I’m not saying he wasn’t ill, but I’m not sure what’s happening.”
When asked about the possibility of not fighting the undefeated Oleksandr Usyk, especially with Usyk possibly choosing Martin Bakole over him, Parker said, “I think there are so many possibilities… until we hear from them. There will be speculations, but until then, we’ll know what will happen.”
Did Daniel Dubois Duck Joseph Parker?

Joseph Parker has been unlucky twice. After beating Wilder, he should have fought Anthony Joshua. Now, Daniel Dubois avoids him, and even after beating Martin Bakole, Parker still doesn’t get a shot at Usyk. He surely deserves more but keeps getting overlooked.
Still, Usyk is the king, and the king decides who he fights. That might be Dubois. A fight between Dubois and Parker has plenty of time to happen, and it could be for a world title once Usyk retires. Some fans feel that Dubois avoided Parker, believing something shady is going on. It seems almost impossible to gain 4-5 kg (10 lbs), get more ripped, and have a much stronger engine in such a short time naturally.

This fight against the dangerous Parker could have cost Dubois his title and his chance at fighting for the undisputed championship, which was a big-money fight. Some speculate that Dubois didn’t make the decision to pull out, but rather, it was Warren’s choice based on doubts or fears he saw in Dubois. Bakole was thrown under the bus, as he wasn’t in shape to fight Parker, and that loss hurt his career. The fight was bad for reasons outside of both Parker’s and Bakole’s control.
There are still fans who believe Dubois ducked Joseph Parker. The reason isn’t hard to figure out. Dubois easily took the AJ fight when many boxing fans thought Joshua was back and could dominate the whole division. Yet, He made the AJ fight look easy, like picking up a piece of paper.
If Dubois got sick, it’s normal, and the fight could’ve been rescheduled. Parker didn’t lose; he just beat the “Boogeyman.” Of course, that would boost his confidence even more. The belt is still with Dubois, so they can just fix another date for the fight. The belt is what Parker is after.
