It looks like the highly talked about Conor McGregor vs Logan Paul has been scrapped. The Irishman has opened up about UFC putting brakes on the event after McGregor announced in December that preliminary agreements were made for the crossover clash.
For those unware, McGregor hasn’t competed in the UFC since 2021 when he suffered a leg fracture in a technical knockout loss to Dustin Poirier. The former two-division UFC champion was originally slated to return to the octagon in June to headline UFC 303 in Las Vegas against Michael Chandler but a foot injury forced him to withdraw.
Conor McGregor has struggled in recent years, going 1-3 in his last four fights. In 2017, he made his professional boxing debut in a lucrative fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., losing by knockout in the 10th round. And a fight against Logan Paul would’ve been his second-ever fight inside the squared circle.

Conor McGregor says UFC weren’t into a fight against Logan Paul
During a recent interview with The Shcmo, Conor McGregor opened up about his potential fight vs Logan Paul. He said:
“It is what it is. The UFC just aren’t into it. The offer was there on the table in writing … both [Paul and I] are under the TKO banner. UFC and WWE, both rising up. You know, the stock price of TKO Holding Ground [is] through the roof. New market in India opened up and booming. It was business savvy and business sense to make the fight happen. Or should I say – the glorified spar happen.”
McGregor further stated that Logan Paul was silent through out the process and he should’ve been more vocal about making the fight happen.
“In between this waiting period that we find ourselves in before I can get back to the octagon, it made perfect sense on the calendar to go ahead with [the Paul exhibition]. The UFC weren’t into it. I’m not sure what the WWE’s interest in it was. I just knew the UFC weren’t into it. And Logan, he just kept quiet. He didn’t say nothing. I was like, ‘mate, you need to say something and open your f—ing mouth.”
