Dana White Claps Back At Eddie Hearn As Zuffa Look Set To Disrupt Matchroom

UFC President Dana White weighs in on controversy surrounding a fighter's comments about Hitler, citing free speech rights

Things are getting tense between two of the sport’s biggest powerhouses. UFC boss Dana White has fired back at Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn after the British mogul criticized White’s upcoming move into boxing under the Zuffa banner.

White, who recently co-promoted the blockbuster Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford event, has made it clear that he’s entering boxing full-time from 2026. His goal is to shake up a sport many see as fragmented and outdated. But Eddie Hearn, whose Matchroom Boxing dominates the global scene, has openly questioned whether White truly understands the complexities of the boxing world.

In typical Dana White fashion, the UFC president didn’t mince his words. “Eddie Hearn is acting like a f**ing lunatic. He sounds like he’s reading a WWE script… You’re not gonna do jack sht,” White blasted in response, making it clear he’s not intimidated by the British promoter’s criticism.

Hearn’s comments came after reports that Zuffa Boxing plans to introduce a new model focusing on consistent matchmaking, fighter transparency, and streamlined pay structures. The changes could directly challenge Matchroom’s grip on the sport, particularly in the U.S. and U.K. markets.

The two have had a rocky relationship for years, often taking verbal shots at each other over how combat sports should be run. But this latest exchange marks the most heated chapter yet, as White prepares to take his UFC-style business model into boxing—a move that could permanently alter the promotional landscape.

With Zuffa Boxing gearing up for launch, the stage is set for a power struggle between two of combat sports’ most influential figures. One thing’s for sure—Dana White isn’t backing down, and Eddie Hearn knows the storm is coming.
