Freddie Haggerty has done his homework, reached his conclusions, and arrived at The Inner Circle on May 22 with a round-by-round blueprint already written.
The 21-year-old Team Underground and Knowlesy Academy striker faces Yonis Anane in strawweight Muay Thai at The Inner Circle this Friday, live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. His preparation has been specific rather than general.

He spent weeks breaking down Anane’s tendencies at Lamai Muay Thai Camp in Koh Samui, identifying the patterns that a 23-5 career record and three promotional knockouts give him the tools to exploit.
Anane is the youngest WBC Muay Thai World Champion in the discipline’s history, and Haggerty has been careful not to dismiss those credentials. The respect, however, stops well short of concern.
“He’s a great opponent. I can’t put him down. He’s the youngest WBC World Champion, so obviously he’s got to be special and good,” Haggerty said. “I’ve seen his fights, and he’s done pretty okay in all of them.”

What Haggerty has spotted beneath those results is a tactical limitation he believes becomes a decisive vulnerability once disrupted. Anane operates comfortably within a defined system, and when that system breaks down, his responses narrow quickly.
“I feel like Yonis has only one game plan. Once his game plan gets messed up, he sort of panics and doesn’t know what to do, so he just goes swinging,” Haggerty said. “But I’m always ready for him to go swinging. I’m ready to be smart, I’m ready to pick him apart. I’m just ready for anything. Also, I don’t think he’s got the grit and heart to go into deep waters with me. I think he’s scared to get hit, if I’m being completely honest.”
The finish is planned for the second round. The first belongs to information-gathering — reading Anane’s timing live, confirming what the footage has already shown, and setting up what comes next.
“The first round will be a feeling-out process. I’m going to get my range and get his timing down,” Haggerty said. “Then, in the second round, I will push the pace, and that is where I will knock him out. I have a lot of trust and power in my hands, so I believe I will knock him out with my hands. Whether it be a right or a left, we’ll have to see. I’m fired up to return in style.”
