Magomed Ankalaev TKOes Bogdan Guskov at UFC Abu Dhabi, Calls Out Alex Pereira for Trilogy Fight
Magomed Ankalaev made his much-anticipated return last night in the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi. The Russian went against challenger Bogdan Guskov in a light heavyweight clash and won the fight via TKO.
Both fighters displayed remarkable toughness, battling on the feet and exchanging grappling sequences throughout an entertaining five-round contest together. In the fifth round, Ankalaev stopped Guskov via TKO after ground-and-pound, securing an emphatic main-event victory.
With the victory, Magomed Ankalaev bounced back from his previous UFC 320 loss to Alex Pereira, re-establishing himself as a title contender. Without wasting any time, Ankalaev called out Alex Pereira for a potential trilogy fight, making his intentions clear about revenge.
“There’s somebody out there who calls himself Chama and said something like, ‘Are you still alive? Well, if he wants to come down and take this fight, I’m sure the UFC would also be very happy to make that fight happen,” said Magomed Ankalaev via UFC Abu Dhabi post-flight presser.
Ankalaev first fought Alex Pereira at UFC 313, where he stunned the Brazilian to capture the light heavyweight championship. Both fighters now hold one win each, making a potential trilogy bout highly anticipated among fans worldwide if booked next.

The light heavyweight division saw a major change when Alex Pereira vacated the title and moved up to the heavyweight division. Following that, Carlos Ulberg and Jiri Prochazka fought for the vacant title, and the Kiwi native won the belt.
Following Magomed Ankalaev’s latest win, he even called Ulberg for a title shot, and the newly crowned champion shared his opinion. “Congrats to Ankalaev. I saw what I needed to see. I’ll leave it at that,” said Carlos Ulberg via UFC.
Magomed Ankalaev has also called out other big names, including Paulo Costa, who recently returned to the light heavyweight division. These developments have certainly generated greater excitement among fans and intensified interest throughout the light heavyweight title picture moving forward.
