A highly anticipated rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois is reportedly in the works, with both camps nearing an agreement for a blockbuster showdown on July 12, 2025, at Wembley Stadium in London. The bout is expected to be for the undisputed heavyweight championship, unifying all four major titles: WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF.
A Rematch Fueled by Controversy and Redemption
The first encounter between Usyk and Dubois took place in August 2023 in Poland, where Usyk secured a ninth-round knockout victory. The fight was marred by controversy when a body shot from Dubois, which appeared to knock Usyk down, was ruled a low blow by the referee, allowing Usyk time to recover. Dubois and his team have since contested the decision, labeling it a “robbery” and calling for a rematch to set the record straight.

Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois’ Paths to the Rematch
Since their initial bout, both fighters have taken significant steps in their careers. Usyk went on to defeat Tyson Fury twice, solidifying his status as the unified heavyweight champion. However, he vacated the IBF title due to mandatory defense obligations, which Dubois claimed after a series of impressive victories, including a knockout win over Anthony Joshua in September 2024.
Dubois was scheduled to defend his IBF title against Joseph Parker in February 2025 but withdrew due to illness. This development opened the door for negotiations with Usyk’s camp for a rematch. Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, confirmed that discussions are underway, with Wembley Stadium being a potential venue.
