Paddy Pimblett calls out Conor McGregor after he loses 500k when Chandler gets KO’ed

At UFC 314 in Miami, Paddy Pimblett secured a significant victory over Michael Chandler with a third-round TKO, marking a pivotal moment in his career. This win not only bolstered Pimblett’s standing in the lightweight division but also had financial repercussions for Conor McGregor, who reportedly lost $500,000 after betting on Chandler to win by knockout.

Following the fight, Paddy Pimblett expressed surprise and disappointment over McGregor’s bet against him, particularly given their shared UK roots. He remarked, “I was shocked he bet against me. I thought we had that Irish-Scouse connection” . Pimblett also took the opportunity to challenge McGregor, suggesting that a bout between them would be a significant event. However, he questioned whether McGregor, who hasn’t fought since 2021, would return to the octagon.

Pimblett’s victory over Chandler has propelled him into discussions for a title shot, with potential matchups against top contenders like Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, and Arman Tsarukyan. While he remains open to a fight with McGregor, Pimblett emphasized his focus on climbing the lightweight rankings and securing a championship opportunity.

Will Conor McGregor fight Paddy Pimblett?

For those unaware, McGregor kept a close lookout for the clash between Pimblett and Chandler. While he was billed to take on Chandler a while ago, a UFC return at this stage looks slim for the Irishman.

However, if he does decide to return to the cage, a fight against Paddy Pimblett could very well be on the cards. That said, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Pimblett and McGregor.
