Sidekick sponsors Alex Reid’s IFC MMA and kickboxing event

Alex Reid is a former actor, MMA fighter, and celebrity. Known for his television work on Hollyoaks and his high-profile marriage to Katie Price, Reid has also fought professionally on BAMMA and Bellator promotions. Now, he is part of the International Fighting Championships (IFC), helping to promote the event and bring attention to the UK combat sports scene.

The partnership between Alex Reid and Sidekick Boxing dates back to 2012, when Reid fought Sam Boo on Channel 5 during BAMMA 11. Sidekick continued its support throughout Reid’s Bellator appearances, demonstrating loyalty and a long-term commitment to both the fighter and the sport. With Reid now involved in IFC, Sidekick was keen to get involved as the official equipment provider. For IFC 9, all fighters will be competing using Sidekick boxing and MMA gloves, ensuring high-quality gear for every bout.

Speaking about the partnership, Daniel Knight said:

“Alex Reid has always gone the extra mile for Sidekick, so it’s a pleasure to be sponsoring IFC.”

What is International Fighting Championship?

IFC SPORT’s journey is deeply intertwined with the pioneering spirit of UK MMA. While detailed public information on Andy Jardine’s specific role with IFC (International Fighting Championship) is limited, he was a key early UK MMA Pioneer, promoter and matchmaker and built and promoted events like CFC, Millennium Brawl, Extreme Brawl & IFC and was the first person to use an octagon cage in the UK for these events.

He also fought on UK shows himself (FX3 & Cage Rage) in (kickboxing/K‑1‑rules style bouts) before and during his promoting career.

Andy Jardine was a key player for UFC’s first event in the UK at the Royal Albert Hall in London and received a commendation from UFC for his help with back stage organisation, transport logistics, promoting, fighters and paramedics.
