“Gonna Be a Hard Fight” – Islam Makhachev Names His Toughest Welterweight Challenge Ahead of UFC 322

Islam Makhachev at UFC 311

Islam Makhachev is preparing for his much-anticipated welterweight debut this Saturday as he headlines the main event of UFC 322. The dominant Dagestani fighter will face current welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena in what promises to be a competitive showdown. The historic Madison Square Garden will host the monumental event, where thousands of fans eagerly anticipate an unforgettable and action-packed night.

Ahead of the fight, Islam Makhachev has been seen adding significant muscle mass to match Della Maddalena’s physical strength. The Dagestani is motivated to secure his second UFC belt and cement his dominance across two competitive divisions. Fully aware of Della Maddalena’s elite striking abilities, Makhachev has sharpened his defence while preparing for another trademark finish.

Apart from all this, in a recent interview, Makhachev talked about Sean Brady, calling him the toughest potential challenger in the division. “I like Sean Brady, his style. If we meet one day, I know it’s gonna be a hard fight. We have almost similar styles. If he’s in good shape [for UFC322], he’s gonna win [against Morales],” said Makhachev via Adin Ross’s stream.

Brady currently holds the #2 ranking in the welterweight division and is scheduled to face Michael Morales at UFC 322. The American contender has built impressive momentum, entering the bout on a dominant three-fight win streak over elite veterans Leon Edwards and Gilbert Burns.

Brady’s wrestling-heavy approach and slick submission skills have earned comparisons to Makhachev’s suffocating grappling style and relentless pressure. If both Brady and Makhachev secure victories this weekend, fans could witness a thrilling stylistic clash between two of MMA’s finest grapplers for the title.

Sean Brady predicts Islam Makhachev vs. Jack Della Maddalena

Despite being the underdog, Jack Della Maddalena is confident and is getting his hand raised at the MSG. In his last bout, he dominated Belal Muhammad and believes the Islam Makhachev fight would go similarly. He plans to get a knockout finish and send the Dagestani back to the lightweight division.

Many experts, including Sean Brady, are backing JDM as the fighter plans to fight the Australian champion after UFC 322. “I was leaning Islam at first but I do think that JDM’s gonna get it done. I think he creates enough scramble. He’s gonna get taken down but I think he’s gonna get back to his feet and potentially knock out Islam. It’s gonna be a great fight,” said Sean Brady via Home of Fight.

Islam Makhachev is currently riding an incredible fifteen-fight win streak and stands just one victory away from surpassing Anderson Silva’s legendary record. His mentor and close friend Khabib Nurmagomedov will be in his corner, believing this to be Makhachev’s greatest challenge. Fans eagerly await to see who emerges victorious after UFC 322 in what promises to be an unforgettable showdown.
