The boxing world is mourning the loss of Vanes Martirosyan, a respected Armenian-American contender who fought some of the toughest names in the sport. His passing at just 39 years old has left fans, fellow fighters and the entire community shocked and heartbroken.

Martirosyan was born on May 1, 1986, in Abovyan before moving to the United States with his family. Growing up in Glendale, California, he quickly rose as one of the brightest amateur talents in American boxing. Known as “The Nightmare,” Martirosyan turned professional in 2005 and built a strong record of 36 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. His career was defined by his hunger for big challenges.
