Can Jake Paul Beat Anthony Joshua In Their Netflix Boxing Fight? Here’s how

We are only just over a week away to witness one of the most craziest mismatch boxing events in history, as Jake Paul attempts to beat former heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua.

Let’s face it, it was only a few years ago that everyone was referring to the former Disney star as ‘just a Youtuber’, dismissing any boxing creditentials he had, and now he is facing one of the biggest punchers in the sport.

So, can Jake Paul beat Anthony Joshua or is he mad to take on such a challenge?

Let’s dive in to see exactly how Jake Paul can walk away victorious.

Anthony Joshua Boxing

When Anthony Joshua entered the professional scene and signed with Matchroom Boxing, his career went from strength to strength. He was beating everyone put in front of him, quickly becoming the heavyweight superstar the sport needed.

However, in 2019 Joshua suffered his first shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr — a much smaller man. Joshua thought he was going to win comfortably after knocking Ruiz down in the third round, but Ruiz had other plans. That same round became one for the history books, as Joshua was also knocked down.

Joshua eventually got back to winning ways until he faced the cruiserweight-turned-heavyweight undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk, who beat him twice. Despite moving up from cruiserweight, Usyk is also smaller than Joshua.

Joshua’s most recent fight was against fellow British boxer Daniel Dubois, who won by knockout. It shows that size isn’t everything — and when Joshua has lost, it has often been to smaller or younger opponents.

Jake Paul Boxing

One thing we can be sure Jake Paul will bring into this fight is confidence. The “Problem Child” fully backs himself.

When Jake Paul began boxing, he followed the influencer-boxing path until he faced Tommy Fury, a fight Paul lost on points. However, considering where he was in his career at the time — and his lack of experience compared to Fury — he held his own. Their skill levels weren’t worlds apart.

Since then, Paul has continued to progress and has shared the ring with Mike Tyson, Nate Diaz, and Anderson Silva.

How Jake Paul beats Anthony Joshua

As much as everyone has written Jake Paul off, anyone with two fists has a chance — a slim one, but still a possibility.

What Paul absolutely must not do is get into heavy exchanges with Anthony Joshua. Anyone who has sparred with a heavyweight will know exactly what that power feels like. Jake Paul will feel even the lightest jabs coming through.

The best approach for Paul, being the younger and lighter fighter, is to be as evasive as possible and get in and out quickly with his shots.

If he can maintain this style for the full eight rounds without walking onto a big right hand from Joshua, he could pull off the upset.

Also, as previously mentioned, it’s proven that Joshua doesn’t have the strongest chin. And just because Jake Paul is lighter, it doesn’t mean he couldn’t land a shot clean enough to wobble Joshua.

As much as it would shock the world to see Jake Paul win — and possibly change the minds of many of his doubters — Joshua remains the overwhelming favourite.

It’s definitely got everyone wanting to tune in!
