The boxing bout materialized after Gervonta Davis withdrew amid legal troubles, prompting Joshua to step in at the last minute. Following the announcement, fans questioned the matchup’s absurdity, citing the massive size disparity between Paul and Joshua.
Unfazed by criticism, Paul remains confident, vowing to deliver a spectacle and defeat Joshua under the bright Miami lights. Known for his theatrics, Paul revealed his fight night outfit, which was inspired by the late Hulk Hogan. The ensemble featured Hogan’s iconic red and yellow colors, complete with bandana, sunglasses, and confident swagger.
“Turned a 12ft Gator into my fight outfit in homage to the legendary Hulk Hogan — RIP Brother,” Jake Paul via Instagram. The jacket boldly displays “HULKAMANIA” across the chest, and Paul plans to enter listening to Hogan’s rallying anthem “Real American,” amplifying nostalgia for the fight.
Hulk Hogan represented the 80s and 90s pop-culture larger-than-life energy, inspiring fans with catchphrases, red-and-yellow gear, and heroic battles in WWE matches. Hogan transcended wrestling, appearing in films, TV, and shaping sports entertainment by headlining WrestleMania. On July 24, 2025, the legendary Hall of Famer died at age 71 from cardiac arrest, prompting worldwide tributes and mourning.
