The UFC lightweight division is undoubtedly one of the most competitive divisions in the current roster across the entire promotion today. The division is currently reigned by Ilia Topuria, who is expected to return soon and defend his lightweight championship belt at Freedom 250.

Topuria is scheduled to take on interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje, and the hype surrounding this matchup is already massive. However, top contender Arman Tsarukyan has been very active lately during his media run and continues expressing confidence in beating Topuria.

In a recent interview, Topuria mocked Tsarukyan and called him ‘dumb’ and a ‘f***king kid’ while rejecting his bold claims. As expected, those comments did not sit well with Tsarukyan, who responded with a brutal rant aimed at the champion

I’m a man, but he’s not. He shaves his a**. He shaves his arms and legs. At least I’m a man, I don’t do that. If you see his videos, he has no hair on his legs. You think he’s gonna have hair on his ass?” Said Arman Tsarukyan via The Ariel Helwani Show.

Arman Tsarukyan has made several headlines after competing particularly in wrestling and grappling competitions over the last few months consistently. UFC CEO Dana White has remained critical of the contender, insisting Tsarukyan must still earn his title opportunity properly.

According to the Armenian fighter, Topuria will defeat Justin Gaethje at the Freedom 250 event and retain his championship title. The fighter has also warned Topuria that he plans to bring him down by defeating him and taking away his superstar status.

Veteran coach predicts Ilia Topuria vs. Islam Makhachev dream match-up

Apart from defending his titles in the lightweight division, Ilia Topuria has always been open to moving up. The ‘El Matador’ has often talked about beating the current welterweight champion and pound-for-pound king, Islam Makhachev.

According to many fans and experts, it’s one of the most anticipated fights that UFC could make now. Recently, veteran UFC coach Firas Zahabi talked about how Makhachev can struggle to take down Topuria.

It’s harder to take down shorter guy, than a tall fighter like JDM. Look, he had a harder time taking down Volkanovski,” Firas Zahabi via Neon’s stream.

Nevertheless, Makhachev has also tested a potential comeback, potentially fighting in July. Currently, there has been no news about his next opponent; names such as Ian Garry and Michael Morales have been in the conversation.
