Ian Garry Believes He Can Beat Islam Makhachev at His Own Game
Ian Machado Garry has never lacked confidence, and his latest comments about a potential fight with UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev are another example of his belief in his own abilities. “I think he has no choice. That’s my decision [to keep the fight standing]. My movement will force him to make decisions. He’s gonna inevitably grab my leg—there’s no doubt that’s gonna happen. And I can’t wait for it to happen because I’m gonna beat him where he’s best, too.”
The statement highlights Garry’s confidence that he can not only compete with Makhachev on the feet but also neutralize the champion’s greatest weapon if the fight hits the mat.
