Wuttikrai’s Personal Journey Defines ONE Friday Fights 168 Main Event
Wuttikrai Wor Chakrawut got his first taste of Muay Thai in his uncle’s gym as a kid, and years of military service later, he made it his singular goal to fight on ONE Championship’s weekly series. That journey continues at ONE Friday Fights 168 inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, August 28, when the 25-year-old headlines against Mohammad “Prince of Persia” Habibpour in a bantamweight Muay Thai main event.
Fighting out of Wor Chakrawut, he has built a well-rounded arsenal around his left body kick and straight knees, racking up statement finishes over Mohamed Taoufyq and Eh Mwi before a unanimous decision win over Sonrak Fairtex at ONE Friday Fights 162.
Habibpour’s own path to Friday night has covered just as much distance. He began training alongside his father at only 3 years old, living in Turkey and Dubai before eventually settling in Thailand, and turned professional at just 13.
Now fighting out of Team Mehdi Zatout in Pattaya, the relentless 22-year-old presses forward behind a tight guard, looking to overwhelm opponents at every range.
The co-main event carries its own compelling origin story. Petphupa Aekpujean started training at just 5 years old after a family member, a former Muay Thai coach, brought him to the gym, and he stepped in as a last-minute replacement fighter at a temple festival and never looked back.
Today the 20-year-old trains under his coach and idol, reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon, at Superbon Training Camp, and he enters Friday off the back of a highlight-reel knockout of Wuttidet Torfunfarm at ONE Friday Fights 158.
Standing across from him, Brazil Aekmuangnon comes from fighting stock of his own. His father is an ex-fighter he has long looked up to, and Brazil scored a knockout in his very first bout at just 10 years old.
Fighting out of the Aekmuangnon gym, the durable 20-year-old is chasing the same six-figure contract that has changed careers before his, and Friday offers the latest chance for one more Bangkok underdog story to write itself.
Seven additional bouts round out a nine-fight card spanning Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA, each one carrying its own version of the same dream.
