Ramadan “The Scorpion” Ondash grew up as the youngest of eight children in a busy Beirut home. These days, the 20-year-old Lebanese star is collecting passport stamps almost as quickly as he collects wins.
First, though, there is business to handle. Ondash meets Japan’s Shimon Yoshinari in the quarterfinals of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix at The Inner Circle 38 on Friday, November 13, live in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.

Martial arts has always run through his family. His father was a wrestler, several older brothers fought Muay Thai professionally, and Ondash himself became a decorated IFMA youth champion and multiple-time Arab junior champion.
That career has taken him across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Reeling off the list, he barely pauses for breath.
“I’ve been to so many places: Germany, Jordan, Turkey, Thailand 17 times, Spain, France, Switzerland, Sweden,” Ondash said.
“I’ve been to Abu Dhabi and Dubai.”
He loves the sunshine of a good beach, but his next trip is heading somewhere colder. Once the Grand Prix bout is behind him, he and a group of friends plan to swap Lumpinee for the Caucasus mountains.

“This year, after my fight, around Christmas, we want to go to Georgia for five days and Armenia for three days,” he said.
“My friend has been to Georgia before. He told me Georgia is very beautiful. He said we should all go together.”
For a fighter who has trained relentlessly since childhood, those breaks are more than holidays. They are a chance to recharge, and even to try something new.
“I like to relax a little bit because I’m always training hard, fighting, and working. You need to rest a little bit,” Ondash said.
“I like to go and experience things. I like traveling alone and with my friends. I’ve never traveled alone before, but I want to do it in December.”
One destination has climbed above the rest on his wish list. He has seen his friends’ photos, and he wants to see it for himself.
“Bali! I want to go to Bali, I swear. I’ve seen my friends go to Bali. It’s very beautiful,” he said.
