Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has revealed that the former heavyweight champion is leaning toward a trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk instead of facing Anthony Joshua next. The revelation, first shared by IFL TV, has sparked fresh debate among boxing fans about which showdown they’d rather see.
Fury and Usyk have already shared the ring twice. Their first clash in May 2024 saw Usyk win by split decision to become the undisputed heavyweight champion, while the December rematch ended with Usyk once again emerging victorious via unanimous decision. Those defeats marked the first blemishes on Fury’s professional record, and many believe a third bout would be about redemption as much as legacy.

Frank Warren confirmed that Fury “won’t wait” for Joshua and is more motivated to avenge his losses to Usyk. If it happens, the trilogy could be one of boxing’s biggest events, potentially once again for the undisputed title depending on how the belts are managed in 2025.
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua continues his own comeback run. The two-time heavyweight champion has been vocal about wanting to finally face Fury in what would be one of the most lucrative all-British fights in history. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, insists that Joshua’s focus remains on making that bout a reality, but as things stand, Fury appears to have his sights elsewhere.

For Fury, a third meeting with Usyk represents unfinished business and the chance to rewrite the narrative after consecutive defeats. For Joshua, it’s about legacy and national pride. Both fights carry immense appeal, but as of now, the Gypsy King’s focus seems fixed on one man—Oleksandr Usyk.
The question boxing fans are left asking: will it be redemption or rivalry that comes next for Tyson Fury?
