Conor Benn Accepts Conor McGregor Fight After Ryan Garcia Humiliation

Conor Benn has opened the door to a blockbuster crossover boxing fight with Conor McGregor after responding to a fan-made poster promoting the potential matchup on social media.

The British boxer shared the poster and made his intentions clear with a three-word response: “Any day of the week.”

Benn’s response comes after a difficult night against Ryan Garcia last month. The 30-year-old suffered a second-round stoppage defeat in their world title fight, leaving his immediate future in boxing uncertain.

The ‘Destroyer’ is now planning to spend time with his family before deciding on his next move. Before facing Garcia, Benn had expressed interest in a trilogy fight with Chris Eubank Jr., his long-time rival. However, he has no intention of dropping back down to the welterweight limit of 147 pounds as he weighs up his options.

A potential showdown with McGregor could offer Benn a lucrative alternative, but turning the matchup into reality would be far from straightforward.

Conor McGregor Fight Faces Major Obstacle

A potential clash between Benn and McGregor has been discussed for next year, although their contractual situations could complicate matters. Both fighters are reportedly under contract with UFC chief Dana White, who has repeatedly resisted UFC fighters crossing over to compete under his Zuffa Boxing promotion while still tied to the UFC.

McGregor is no stranger to professional boxing. The former two-division UFC champion famously faced Floyd Mayweather in 2017, with their crossover showdown becoming one of the biggest pay-per-view events in combat sports history. Mayweather eventually stopped the Irishman in the 10th round.

However, McGregor’s own fighting future remains uncertain. The 38-year-old reportedly has one fight remaining on his UFC contract after returning to action in July against Max Holloway.

His comeback ended in disappointment when he suffered a knee injury just seconds into the contest in Las Vegas. McGregor later revealed that he had torn his ACL and faces an extended recovery following surgery.

Although McGregor has vowed to return to competition, his injury could complicate any plans for a boxing appearance next year.

For now, Benn’s response has added fuel to speculation about a potential crossover blockbuster. However, with both fighters facing uncertainty over their next moves and promotional hurdles still to overcome, the fight remains speculative rather than confirmed.
