“Exceeded All My Expectations”- Darren Till Praises Fellow Scouser Paddy Pimblett Following His Recent UFC Success
Before shifting to boxing, Darren Till enjoyed an exciting UFC career as one of Liverpool’s brightest championship prospects. He fought top opponents, including Donald Cerrone, Jorge Masvidal, and Stephen Thompson, while showcasing tremendous striking ability and durability.
However, inconsistent performances and consecutive losses forced him to step away from the UFC before eventually leaving the promotion entirely. Now, fellow Scouser Paddy Pimblett has emerged as one of the promotion’s biggest stars with an 8-1 UFC record.
Pimblett is targeting a lightweight title opportunity after continuing his remarkable rise through impressive performances inside the Octagon consistently. In a recent interview, Till praised Pimblett and admitted how he didn’t reach that level in his prime UFC years.
“People come to me and say. Do you know Paddy? He exceeded all my expectations. Before every fight, people say he won’t win, and I say he has a great style. He is big for the weight. I’m just a has-been. I’m forgotten about compared to Paddy,” said Darren Till via Ariel Helwani Show.
Apart from his fighting ability, Paddy Pimblett has built a massive fan following through his solid trash talk and intriguing Scouse accent. His dramatic weight fluctuations between fights have also become a regular talking point among fans and the MMA community.
In his latest outing, Pimblett defeated Benoit Saint Denis by submission, extending his impressive UFC run with another statement victory. Now ranked No. 5 in the UFC lightweight division, Pimblett has called out Charles Oliveira and rival Ilia Topuria.

Darren Till talks about Conor McGregor’s recent loss in UFC
Last month, former UFC double champion Conor McGregor made his much-anticipated comeback against Max Holloway. Despite the hype, that result was anticlimactic as McGregor injured his knee in the initial minutes.
As expected, big names from combat sports shared their opinion, including Darren Till. “I wouldn’t say he’s the greatest UFC fighter of all time. He gained his fame with his mouth. don’t want to see him come back. He’s a promoter now, he’s got money, there’s no need. I was sitting at a bar, didn’t know what happened, and I was pissed out,” Darren Till continued.
Following his exit from Misfits Boxing, Till is currently signed with BKFC, which is partly owned by Conor McGregor. Till is currently scheduled to fight Yoel Romero in September and is excited to continue his winning streak.
