ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang had fans at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena glued to their seats from the opening bell. The highly anticipated flyweight kickboxing showdown between former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and three-division K-1 Champion Takeru Segawa ended almost as quickly as it began.
Rodtang wasted no time, dismantling his Japanese opponent in just 90 seconds. From the outset, “The Iron Man” took control, pressing forward as Takeru tried to slow him down with his signature low kicks. But it didn’t take long for Rodtang to close the distance, landing a powerful looping left hook that left Takeru staggering. A follow-up shot sealed the deal, sending Takeru crashing to the canvas.
Unable to beat the referee’s count, Takeru’s night ended at just 1:20 of the first round, leaving the Saitama crowd in stunned silence as Rodtang added another emphatic chapter to his striking legacy.
