Gervonta Davis is facing serious legal trouble after authorities issued an arrest warrant connected to an alleged domestic violence incident. Investigators pursued charges after his former partner, Courtney Rossel, filed a detailed civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade County in late October 2025.
Rossel alleged battery, aggravated battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and emotional distress, describing injuries and long-lasting psychological trauma from the encounter. She claimed the confrontation occurred at a nightclub, where she used to work, leaving visible marks and overwhelming fear about her personal safety.
The lawsuit gained attention shortly before Davis was scheduled to face Jake Paul in a widely promoted exhibition bout. Miami Gardens Police recently held a press conference where they talked in detail about the case.
“An arrest warrant has been issued for Gervonta Bryant Davis on the following charges – battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping. The investigation determines that Mr Davis used force to restrain and attempt to remove the victim from the location against her will,” Miami Gardens Police said in a statement.

In the statement, it was explained that according to Rossel, Davis grabbed her hair and throat and forcefully took her out of the parking garage. Rossel and Gervonta Davis have known each other since 2022 and had an intimate relationship that lasted five months.
The police have also acquired the video footage of the incident, which essentially backs the claims made against Davis. Currently, they are working with United States marshals to locate and apprehend Gervonta Davis.
